Welcome to 16C Canal Street!
The history of this building dates back to the 1930s when Shri Anil Chandra Neogy constructed and owned this house, which formed a part of the Brojendra Nath Estate, named after his father, Shri Brojendra Nath Neogy.
The plan was sanctioned by Calcutta Corporation in 1937 and finally given shape and completed by a British Architect in the year 1940.
This was the abode for the officials of "Westington House Saxby Farmer Ltd" for many years, who pioneered the Electro-magnetic Brake Systems for Indian Railways.
After the British left, this was home to a few Anglo-Indian and Goan families for about 18-20 years.
The mid and late 70s saw most of them immigrating to Europe or Australia.
It was finally reconstructed and given a modern facelift in the year 2023. The reconstruction process started in 2021 and took about 2 - 2.5 years to finish.
